Pictures of the round bale cattle hay feeder
This picture of the livestock feeder shows the optional 17-inch tall hay-saving steel skirt welded around the exterior of the feeder. This design allows fallen hay to be contained inside the feeder to be eaten rather than being wasted and trampled into the dirt. See the hay-saving skirt feeder below:
The s-bar design is to help keep your smaller calves from being able to climb into the feeder. All too often they will get stuck inside a straight bar design and trample the remaining hay inside the feeder.
Shown below, the open bottom round Bale feeder allows the smallest of animals to feed next to the ground and provides access to the hay for everyone.

Hay Feeder Video Text
This is the 3-piece s-bar cattle hay feeder from Tarter. It is a great all-purpose hay feeder for feeding large round bales of hay to your cattle.
Its heavy-duty construction is made with 1 ¾” steel tubing and an S-bar design to help keep your younger calves from getting inside the feeder.
This is a perfect feeder, especially if you have a smaller herd or it's mixed with smaller animals (we recommend one feeder for each 8 to 10 head of cattle).
The feeder shown here in the video is open at the bottom and does not have a hay-saving skirt on the bottom by choice. The optional hay-saving skirt is a metal, 17” tall band that goes all the way around the feeder to keep the hay inside where it’s needed and prevent it from being blown around or trampled. It is an option that can be ordered with this hay feeder if desired or left open as shown for your very smallest animals to access hay near ground level.
This all-around feeder features individually welded s-bars, so when the cattle come in to feed and lean on the steel tubing, they are pushing against the upright bars, which transfer the energy into the rail and makes it much less likely for that weld to break. A strong weld and well-thought-out engineered connections are made at each upright.
This is a great general, all-purpose hay feeder that can accommodate most animals including a mixed herd with smaller animals too. You may see Barn World’s entire selection of cattle hay feeders by clicking here and if you have any questions, please give us a call at 720-238-2190.
