Liquid Feed Lick Tanks for Cattle

Lick tanks provide a way to offer compatible liquid feed supplements in pastures and feeding areas. As cattle turn the lick wheels, the wheels lift liquid from inside the tank to the feeding surface. Check how many lick wheels are included and whether additional wheel positions are supported by that model. Wheel number, size, brackets, and mounting arrangements vary between tanks; do not assume that a replacement wheel or kit fits every feeder.

Match the Supplement to the Intended Use

Use a liquid supplement intended for the livestock being fed and compatible with the feeder. Follow the supplement label for species, feeding directions, and intake monitoring. Consult your livestock nutrition adviser when choosing a supplement or changing the feeding program.
