Lick Tank Mineral Feeder Features
This large polyethylene Lick Tank is a terrific mineral feeder that has a 280-gallon capacity and is designed to stand up to feedlot acids. Its domed top and large filler cap keep cattle from stepping on it, and it's made with heavy-duty rib construction to take abuse. Please note that the color may vary.
The wheel brackets are raised to drain rain/snow away, and the concave base is grooved so the lick wheels extract feed all the way to the bottom. It comes standard with (2) wheels that are 24" in diameter. Additional wheels may be ordered by selecting the wheel kit below to make a (4) wheel tank if desired.

Lick Feeder Features
- Concave Bottom: To ensure that the feeder will extract as much of your supplement as possible, the bottom is concave so the wheel itself will fit into a groove at the lowest point of the feeder. This design allows the wheel to pull as much out of the feeder as possible.
undefined
- Domed Lid: The top of the mineral feeder features a large, domed lid to prevent cattle or other livestock from standing on top of the feeder. We all know cattle are mischievous and will walk on just about anything, but the shape of the lick tank cover provides a strong deterrent to stepping on the lid.
undefined
- Raised Lick Wheels: The lick wheels ride on brackets that hold the wheels above the lid cutouts so that rain and snow drain off the wheels and not into the feeder storage tank, thereby diluting your minerals. All feeders include the cap as shown.

Durability / Construction: This lick tank is made from very high-quality polyethylene to make it impervious to feedlot acids. The heavy-duty rib construction provides extra strength to not only the bottom but the whole feeder itself. Combined with the durable feeder cap, this one is built to last in the harshest of environments.
Livestock Lick Tank Mineral Feeder Review
If you're unfamiliar with the use and benefits of a lick tank mineral feeder, here's a quick description for consideration:
A livestock lick tank mineral feeder is a device used in ranching to provide essential minerals and nutrients to livestock, such as cattle, sheep, or goats. It typically consists of a tank or container filled with mineral supplements, which are consumed by the animals as they lick or nibble on the feeder.
The Benefits of Using a Livestock Lick Tank Mineral Feeder
- Nutritional supplementation: Livestock require specific minerals and nutrients for optimal health and productivity. A mineral feeder ensures that they have access to these essential elements, which may be lacking in their natural diet or grazing land.
- Health maintenance: Adequate mineral intake is crucial for the overall health and well-being of livestock. Minerals like calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, and trace minerals play vital roles in bone development, reproduction, immune function, and metabolism. A mineral feeder helps prevent deficiencies and associated health problems.
- Improved growth and performance: Providing the necessary minerals can lead to better growth rates, weight gains, and reproductive performance in livestock. This can translate to improved productivity and profitability for ranchers.
- Reduced grazing pressure: Livestock may overgraze certain areas of pasture in search of specific minerals present in the soil. By providing mineral supplements through a feeder, ranchers can help distribute grazing pressure more evenly across the pasture, promoting healthier vegetation growth and soil conservation.
- Convenience and control: Mineral feeders allow ranchers to control the type and amount of minerals provided to their livestock. They can adjust the composition of the mineral mix based on the specific nutritional needs of their animals and the characteristics of their grazing land. Additionally, mineral feeders require less frequent replenishment compared to other methods of mineral supplementation, providing convenience to ranchers.
