THE CORD
|

TIED AND WOVEN
Tied cinchas are the traditional flat cinchas with a single
layer of mohair cord and can be created with 17, 19, or 21 strands. The 17 and
21 strands have the center D rings attached with nylon webbing. The 19 strand
has tied-in center D rings attached with mohair cord. Each cord is
approximately 1/4″ in width, so cinch width varies according to the number of
strands.
The woven cinch is two layers of mohair cord thick with woven-in bars created by a weaving effect. Woven cinches can be created in either straight/cutter or roper styles with 30 or 31 strands and your choice of leather keeper colors.
Tied-woven cinchas combine tied ends with woven bars and are available with 30 or 31 strands. These are created with mid-bar style buckles and include a leather keeper on the off side.
They are all comfortable and do a great job.
HARDWARE
5 Star uses BORK flat buckle hardware in tumble or polished finish. These bronze
rings and buckles offer high tensile strength, corrosion resistance, and a flat
profile that prevents pinching and rolling against the horse.

Measuring for a cinch
Cinches are sized by measuring from the inside of one buckle to the inside of
the other buckle.
