HeatFlex PEX Tubing for Radiant Floor Heating
This versatile Heat-Flex Tubing is used to transport non-potable water, both hot and cold applications for radiant floor heating systems, including baseboard and snowmelt applications. The Polyethylene Copolymer Resin allows the tubing to carry high-temperature fluids for almost any type of boiler heating system.
This oxygen-barrier PEX Tubing is for use with the Crete Heat Panels to create an effective radiant floor heat system. It does not include the elbows or fittings as the 300' length kits do (click here).
HeatFlex PEX tubing is a type of cross-linked polyethylene tubing designed specifically for use in radiant floor heating systems. It offers several advantages:
- Flexibility: HeatFlex PEX tubing is highly flexible, allowing easy installation around obstacles in the floor.
- Durability: It is resistant to corrosion, ensuring long-term reliability without leaks.
- Heat Conduction: HeatFlex PEX tubing efficiently transfers heat from the source to the floor, providing uniform warmth.
- Compatibility: It works with various radiant floor heating systems, including hydronic and electric systems.
- Cost-Effective: Compared to other materials, HeatFlex PEX tubing is cost-effective for installations.
- Ease of Installation: Its lightweight and easy-to-work-with nature reduces labor costs and installation time.
Overall, HeatFlex PEX tubing is a valuable and often required component for radiant floor heating systems, offering flexibility, durability, efficient heat conduction, compatibility, cost-effectiveness, and ease of installation.

Differences Between Oxygen Barrier PEX and Traditional PEX Tubing
Oxygen barrier PEX tubing and traditional PEX tubing differ primarily in their ability to prevent the diffusion of oxygen molecules through the tubing material. Here's how they are different:
- Oxygen Barrier: Oxygen barrier PEX tubing is designed with an additional layer or coating that acts as a barrier against oxygen permeation.
- Purpose: Oxygen barrier PEX tubing is specifically used in hydronic heating systems to prevent oxygen-related corrosion.
- Material Composition: The oxygen barrier in PEX tubing is often achieved by incorporating a layer of ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH) or other oxygen-resistant materials.
- Cost: Oxygen barrier PEX tubing tends to be slightly more expensive due to the additional materials and manufacturing processes.
- Application: Traditional PEX tubing is suitable for potable water systems and plumbing applications, while oxygen barrier PEX is used in hydronic heating systems.
In summary, the key difference lies in the presence of an oxygen barrier layer in oxygen barrier PEX tubing, making it suitable for preventing corrosion in hydronic heating systems that use Electric Floor Heat Boilers, whereas traditional PEX tubing lacks this barrier and is used in other applications.
