Longhorn Hay Feeder – Heavy-Duty Round Bale Feeder for Cattle
Keeping hay clean and reducing waste is critical when feeding cattle, and the Longhorn Hay Feeder is designed to do just that. Built tough with heavy-duty steel, this round bale feeder stands up to the demands of daily use on a working ranch. The open-top design allows easy access for cattle, while the durable frame keeps the hay contained, preventing it from being trampled into the dirt and wasted. Without a feeder, hay gets scattered, stepped on, and contaminated, leading to significant feed loss and higher costs. By using a feeder like this, you not only save money on hay but also ensure your cattle are getting clean, quality feed. The rugged steel tubing construction is powder-coated for rust resistance, making it ideal for outdoor use in all weather conditions. Whether you’re feeding a few heads or a larger herd, this feeder helps keep hay easily accessible while reducing unnecessary waste.
Specifications:
- Material: Heavy-duty steel construction
- Finish: Powder-coated for rust and weather resistance
- Dimensions: 8 feet in diameter, 50 inches in height
- Weight: 225 lbs
- Design: Open-top with covered stanchion stations
Why Every Rancher Needs a Quality Hay Feeder
Hay isn’t cheap, and when it gets trampled into the dirt or soaked in mud, it’s money wasted. Cattle are notorious for pulling hay out of a pile and scattering it, making feeding inefficient and costly. The Longhorn Hay Feeder is built to solve this problem by keeping hay contained and off the ground, so your cattle can eat clean feed without wasting it. The steel frame is built to handle the weight of large round bales and withstand the pressure of heavy livestock feeding from all sides. Designed with open spaces, this feeder allows multiple cattle to eat at once without crowding, ensuring an even feed distribution. It’s simple to move and position in a pasture, and for added protection against moisture, some ranchers place their hay bales on a pallet inside the feeder to keep them even further off the ground. If you want to stretch your hay supply, reduce waste, and provide your cattle with cleaner feed, investing in a quality hay feeder like this is a smart choice.
Customer Review
"I’ve got a small herd of longhorns, and I was tired of seeing so much hay go to waste. Without a feeder, they’d stomp half of it into the dirt, and once it’s mixed in with mud or manure, they won’t touch it. This feeder has been solid—real heavy-duty, good welds, and it’s not bending or rusting even after sitting out in rain and snow. I set my bales up on a pallet inside the feeder, so they’re off the ground, and the cattle get every bit of it instead of wasting half. It’s been a big help keeping feed costs down, and I’d buy more when needed." – Tom R., Texas Rancher
