These are CUSTOM and are BUILT TO ORDER. They have a longer lead time than the traditional T-Style Cattle Guard Foundations.
These large concrete footings require a mechanical means of unloading to be available upon delivery. These pre-cast forms weigh thousands of pounds each.
Cattle Guard Foundations
Our precast concrete cattle guard foundations are engineered to simplify installation by eliminating the need for on-site cement pouring. These foundations are intended for compatible flat-top rail cattle guards. Confirm the selected foundation length, guard dimensions, bearing arrangement, and J-bolt locations against the applicable drawings before ordering. Pre-installed 3/4-inch J-bolts provide the attachment points.
The footings support a compatible cattle guard as part of a properly designed installation. Confirm the guard's load documentation and foundation requirements for the expected vehicles; the foundation alone does not establish highway-load approval. These foundations are very heavy and require that appropriate mechanical equipment be available on-site for unloading.

Before installation, it's important to consult a local contractor familiar with soil, drainage, and freezing conditions to ensure proper placement and long-lasting performance of your cattle crossing.
Precast footings can avoid on-site concrete casting, but still require site-specific preparation. Have a qualified professional determine excavation, supporting base, drainage, frost considerations, elevation, and anchoring requirements. Follow the selected guard and foundation drawings and applicable local requirements.

The traditional T-Style Foundations are more economical and readily available than the L-Style.

Foundation Support and Maintenance
Foundation performance depends on the guard configuration, ground conditions, support preparation, drainage, installation, and traffic loads. Concrete footings do not guarantee freedom from settlement, erosion, or movement. Inspect the crossing and address changes according to the manufacturer's instructions and qualified site advice.
