Construction
Feeder Bottom
The poly bottom has three separate compartments that hold 200 pounds of minerals off the ground and away from moisture and rot. It’s tapered to prevent tipping and includes three built-in anchoring sites around the bottom so it may be staked down for stability. The base section itself is 15” tall and a large 38” in diameter.
Rugged Flap
Cattle are naturally drawn to the feeder (and the smell of supplements) and immediately know how to lift the large 41” diameter flap to get inside. The flap is made with 3/8 inch thick rubber, which won’t tear around the pin. It’s made with high-quality polyethylene and is designed for repetitive use outdoors, in direct sunlight, and all Mother Nature has to offer. In short, the flap is built to last. If a flap ever does get old, it may be made new again with the mineral feeder flap kit.
This is a very strong and heavy-duty mineral feeder and makes getting your supplements to large herds a breeze. Just fill, and the cattle do the rest!

Here, the top flap is held back to see the interior compartments and what the feeder will look like when 'opened' by cattle. Note the bottom ring between the flap and the compartment base can be seen. It helps support the flap cover from below.

Note that the top flap is protected from over-bending and creasing by the top washer and flap disc shown below. The flap is 3/8" thick and protects the precious supplements below while taking repetitive abuse from continuous opening and closing by your largest livestock eaters! The Sioux Steel logo is being phased out and may not appear on all orders.

The interior of the mineral feeder is made up of three separate compartments that keep the supplements off the ground, protected from moisture and rot.

Ground Mineral Feeder Reviews
- in a single report from a rancher's point of view:As a rancher raising and managing a herd, investing in a quality mineral feeder is essential for keeping my livestock healthy. This Mineral Feeder has been a great addition to ensure I'm providing the necessary supplements to my growers in an easy manner.
First off, this feeder is impressively robust. Built to withstand rough conditions, whether it's the weather or the occasional rough handling from the cattle, I’ve used it through seasons of rain, snow, and harsh sun, and it has held up remarkably well. The poly feeder base can take a lot of abuse without an issue. The rubber top flap is 3/8 inch thick and doesn't tear around the pin. The Mineral Feeder Flap Kit is sold at BarnWorld.com if it's ever needed individually.

The feeder base construction is solid, and it's large enough to ensure all my cattle get their share of the minerals, even during peak feeding times. The ease of providing essential nutrients to my herd is another huge advantage. Before using this feeder, it was a hassle trying to make sure each cow got the right amount of supplements. Now, I just load the minerals into the feeder, and the cattle come to it when they need it.
It’s made managing their intake a lot easier, and I’ve noticed improved growth and overall health, especially in my younger stock. The feeder's design also ensures that rainwater doesn’t mix with the minerals, so I don’t have to worry about wasted or spoiled feed.
One of the best features is its durability. I’ve had this feeder for over a year, and it still works as well as new, with very little wear and tear. It’s clearly built to last, which is a major plus considering the wear that comes with daily use on a ranch. I might need a few replacement flaps next year, but I see this as a long-term investment that’s going to pay for itself many times over. It makes it easy to improve the health and weight gains of my herd while minimizing maintenance and labor.
If you’re a rancher looking for a reliable, easy-to-use, and long-lasting feeder, I can’t recommend this Ground Mineral Feeder enough. It’s a practical, low-maintenance solution that supports the nutritional needs of livestock, even in the toughest conditions.
