It is much more economical to replace just the liner of the trough than it is to replace the entire bunk feeder. Replacing the liner is paying dividends over replacing an entire rusted-out metal feeding trough.
Replace the Liner, Keep the Existing Feed Bunk
If the supporting frame on your 5-foot Economy Feed Bunk is still in good condition, changing the worn polyethylene trough liner may be a more practical choice than replacing the complete feeder. You keep the usable frame and renew the part that actually holds the feed. Inspect the supports, fasteners and contact points first: a new liner cannot repair a bent, unstable or badly corroded frame.
How the Flat Replacement Liner Fits
This polyethylene liner is cut for the matching 5-foot Economy Feed Bunk. It measures approximately 33 inches wide by 59 3/4 inches long and is about 0.100 inch thick. The sheet arrives flat and takes on its trough shape when supported by the feeder frame. It does not have pre-drilled holes, so verify your existing mounting arrangement before fitting or modifying the new sheet.
The poly surface does not rust, and replacing a damaged lining can make the feed-holding area easier to maintain. Regular cleaning and inspections remain important, particularly along the edges where feed and moisture can accumulate.
Shipping and Handling Advantages
Compared with ordering a complete assembled feed bunk, a replacement liner avoids shipping a second metal support frame. The flat sheet is also less bulky than a whole feeder, although actual packing, freight charges and unloading requirements depend on your delivery address and order quantity. If you maintain several compatible feed bunks, ask about shipping multiple liners together.

- Check the model. This replacement fits the specific 5-foot Economy Feed Bunk; it is not advertised as a universal liner for other feeder frames.
- Verify measurements. Compare the old liner and frame with the listed 33-by-59 3/4-inch sheet dimensions.
- Inspect the structure. Repair or replace damaged supports before relying on a new liner.
- Review the fasteners. Because holes are not pre-drilled, confirm the correct attachment method for your frame before installation.
- Fit and inspect. Empty and clean the feeder, remove the damaged lining, fit and secure the replacement using the appropriate mounting arrangement, and check for sharp edges or exposed hardware before use.
