Improve Livestock Containment at the Cattle Guard
A cattle guard prevents livestock from crossing the roadway, but determined animals may try to walk around the sides where the fence meets the crossing. Cattle guard wings extend the barrier at these transition points, eliminating the open area that can allow livestock to step around the cattle guard.
The angled wing design helps redirect livestock away from the sides of the crossing and back toward the fenced area. When installed with the appropriate cattle guard wing posts, the wings create a sturdy vertical barrier that connects the fence line to the cattle guard.
Heavy-Duty Steel Construction
Each wing is constructed from 10-gauge A36 steel and weighs approximately 56 pounds. The built-in mounting tabs allow the wings to be bolted to the ends of the cattle guard for a secure installation. A bolt bag hardware kit is included with the wing set for attachment to the cattle guard.
The yellow finish makes these cattle guard wings easy to see at the crossing, providing a highly visible addition to the livestock containment system. The pair is designed to provide one wing for each end of the cattle guard.
Installation and Compatibility
The yellow wing ends are designed to be used with compatible flat top pipe cattle guards. The wings are sold as a pair, but the cattle guard wing posts are sold separately. The posts support the wings in an upright position and are required to complete the wing and post assembly.
