At 42 inches tall and 165 feet long this net is suitable for containing or deterring all animals. The horizontal strands are spaced close at the bottom and gradually increase in spacing toward the top, similar to a metal combo panel. This aids in containing clipped foul and smaller animals yet is tall enough for goats, llamas and even horses or cows. The vertical and horizontal strands are connected by a molded plastic nonslip bead. The vertical and bottom horizontal strands are wireless to prevent arching to the ground. All horizontal strands are connected at both ends with a galvanized junction clip for joining additional nets and connecting the fence charger.

The net will not deliver a shock if the animal is not touching ground or a grounded wire when it contacts the hot wires. This is the case with all electric fence whether it be a net, tape, rope or steel wire. If the net is 6 feet off the ground and the fence below is not grounded the cat would not be shocked when it touches the net. Further more I imagine that if the cat jumps up into the net it would pull the net down. I don`t think the nets will provide the results your looking for. I will answer your questions. 1. The posts in the net are 1/2" flexible plastic with metal spikes at the bottom. I think they could be easily clamped to an existing post. 2 u-bolts would be best. 2. The current would still flow, even in the torn strands, as the strands are all connected each end. 3. Yes, there is a clip at each end to connect one net to another.

The P-89 Poultry net is 165 feet long with 15 posts. The posts are at 11 feet spacing.

The netting is-in this case 42" tall. The squares are aprox. 3X3 inches and the strands are molded together with a plastic "button". the horizontal strands include wire and are the ones that will be hot. the bottom strand dosen't have wire so it can be placed at or close to the ground. the net is black and white with black fiberglass rods. It looks a lot like the standard 4X4 or 2x3 wire fence that's been around for years. The netting comes in Orange, White or green.
