Pictures of the Pig Feeder Fence-line Adapter

The optional fence line adapter offers a convenient solution for connecting the feeder to your current pens, enabling individual feeding from a single feeder. Below, you'll find images demonstrating the adapter connected to the feeder and then secured to an existing fence line.

Feeding two separate pens from the same feeder

When the fence line adapter is installed, pigs sorted into various pens can still utilize the same feeder. Segregating your animals based on size, breed, or simply to maintain harmony can significantly alleviate feeding stress, thereby enhancing consumption and promoting weight gain.

Hog Feeder anchor brackets

To ensure stability and prevent toppling when your feeder is used outdoors, consider utilizing these practical anchor brackets. They're specifically engineered to fasten the trough securely to the ground, providing added stability. You can attach them to various surfaces, such as buried railroad ties, pallets, or even concrete pads if accessible. Bolting down your feeder helps maintain its upright position, ensuring your hogs have continuous access to feed for optimal weight gains, especially amidst changing weather conditions.

Pig Feeder Video Review

At present, feed typically accounts for up to 65% of production expenses in modern facilities. Osborne's big wheel pig feeders, serving nursery and finishing stages, have set industry benchmarks for over three decades.

With their original round-trough design, these feeders prioritize ample space for animals to eat, fostering an environment conducive to consumption. Positioned in a 360° spoke-like arrangement, they optimize trough access, accommodating more pigs simultaneously without crowding. This layout promotes a non-confrontational feeding experience, unlike traditional rectangular or straight-line feeders.

The mechanical flow mechanism ensures a continuous supply of fresh feed while halting feeding when not required. This responsive system prevents feed from languishing untouched in the trough, susceptible to displacement or spoilage, particularly in damp conditions.

Equipped with paddle sweeps on the feeder bar, these feeders aid in trough cleaning as pigs engage the wheel to request food.

One of the great benefits of owning an Osborne feeder is that you can order an individual part rather than being required to replace the entire feeder. If something becomes worn or broken, the expense of replacing an individual part is much less than the entire feeder. Keep your feeder running in tip-top condition and order just the part you need, as shown in the parts list diagram below.

Product Review: Osborne Finishing Feeder

As a farmer new to raising pigs, I couldn't have asked for a better start than with the Osborne Feeder from Barn World. From the moment I decided to order it, the process was smooth and straightforward. BarnWorld was helpful and provided clear information, and placing the order was a breeze. It came on a pallet but was easy to remove from the truck by hand. It doesn't weigh a whole lot.

Setting up the feeder was surprisingly easy. The instructions were clear, and within no time, it was ready to use. What impressed me most was how quickly my pigs adapted to it. They took to the feeder immediately, and there was no learning curve for them to figure out how to activate it to release feed. This made the transition seamless and stress-free for both the pigs and me.

One of the biggest benefits of the feeder is the time it saves. Instead of having to feed the pigs daily, I can now fill the feeder and trust that they have access to feed whenever they need it. This not only saves me valuable time but also ensures that the pigs are consistently fed, promoting their health and growth.

Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the Osborne Pig Feeder. It has simplified my daily routine and given me peace of mind knowing that my pigs are well-fed without constant manual feeding. Whether you're just starting like me or looking to streamline your pig-feeding process, I highly recommend this feeder.

The Osborne trough is an on-demand design that requires the paddles to be 'swept' through the trough and releases feed only when called for. This helps eliminate waste from standing food and the paddles help clean the trough as they sweep through when turned by the pigs. They're feeding themselves and cleaning up after with this unique design!

The method is so successful that, unlike many other outdoor feeders, Osborne feeders do not require a covered trough. Even after heavy rains, the self-cleaning action of the feed wheel keeps feed flowing and is only dispensed when asked for. The position of the feed in the hopper in relation to the trough prevents moisture from “wicking up” into the storage bin and keeps feed from plugging, sticking, and becoming stale or moldy, even in dirt lots!
