LaMilpa Power Mill:

For wet or dry materials. Especially suited for seeds, shells, most grains, bones, pepper, spices, coffee, tofu and similar materials.
Adjustable for coarse to fine grinding. Includes a pair each of coarse and fine burrs.
Grinding capacity per hour is up to 300 lb. fine and 800 lb. coarse.
Package includes; base frame, electric motor with starter, on/off controls and thermal protection, plugged power cord, v-belt, motor pulley, and safety belt guard. (Hopper and Mobile base frame with casters not included in package).

This is all we have.

I am going to use the mill to grind maize for human consumption. Is the quality of meal ok for this purpose.

It won't be like flour purchased at the store; most like a coarse corn meal.

What are burrs and how do they work.

They help to grind the feed.

I want to mill maize (corn) and would like to know what sort of grades I can expect from your product and how does the grinding or milling actually take place - are there different screens in the machine and if not how is the maize actually milled. I am familiar with conventional hammer mills so this is something new to me.

There are two sets of burrs, coarse and fine.

Is the fine or coarse burrs the only two setting this mill has or is there other ajustment.(Can I make very course cracked corn or wheat with this mill) Thanx... Brad

Yes, you can make very coarse cracked corn or wheat. This machine requires a motor and is not shipped prepaid.

Can a gas motor be easily installed on the optional base or do I need to build my own?

Yes, you can possibly do that by hooking up your own pulleys.

This sound like what we need.But we do not have any electric power at the ranch. We would need a LaMilpa Power Mill set up with a gasoline or propane engine. What do I need to do this? we want to crack hole shelled corn, milo, oats, barley. Louie

If you have a way to connect a gas or propane engine, you would want to order a mill without the motor.

It requires approximately an 1800 RPM motor.
