One of the greatest advantages of Hi-Qual's all-steel feed bunk is that it uses corrugated side panels to dramatically increase strength and longevity. Another great design feature is the slanted bottom of the feed trough itself. Most in the industry have a rounded bottom, and when calves or other small animals climb in, which they'll do from time to time, they're not able to get themselves out. The v-bottom allows the calf to stand up on its own and get out. It also makes it easy to clean! It comes with drain holes at both ends and strong mud legs that allow the feeders to be dragged around the pasture. Connect them end-to-end with the bunk connectors, and you can move a train of them all at once! The bunk connector also eliminates the space between the bunks when using them end-to-end.

Feed Bunk Video Review

Bunk Connector

When placing your feed bunks end-to-end, these handy connectors keep them held tight together so they will come apart. The grain cannot fall in between the feeders or be forced apart. They are also very handy when you need to move multiple feed bunks, as they can be used to pull each other like a train.

Feed Bunk Construction and Design Features

Square-End Feed Bunks – Strong, Efficient, and Safe

Our feed bunks feature square ends, unlike most competitors with rounded designs. This allows multiple bunks to be placed tightly together, eliminating gaps where feed can spill and go to waste. For added convenience, our bunk connector locks the bunks together along a grain or silage line, keeping them aligned and saving time during feed distribution.

Easy Setup and Mobility

The bunk connector also makes moving several bunks simple. Hook them to a tractor and tow them like a train—each bunk follows smoothly without getting hung up, thanks to the durable leg design. This saves time and effort when relocating your feeding line or setting up in a drier area of your pasture.

V-Bottom Design for Efficient Feeding and Cleaning

A slightly sloped V-bottom keeps feed centered and makes cleaning straightforward. You can run a scoop along the sides without flipping the bunk. Drain holes at each end improve moisture drainage, reducing buildup and keeping feed dry and fresh.

Safe for Livestock

The square sides enhance animal safety. Calves can climb out easily, using the side walls for support. Rounded-bottom bunks can cause animals to slip and get stuck, but the square design prevents this, reducing the need for manual intervention.

Grain and Silage Options

Our grain bunks share the same 11½-foot length as the silage bunks but have a smaller capacity, ideal for grain feeding. Both are built for strength and durability, capable of handling heavy feed loads. They are tested to withstand significant weight from the inside and bottom, outperforming standard poly bunks in toughness and reliability.

Durable, Labor-Saving Design

With a combination of square ends, a V-bottom, drain holes, and a bunk connector, these feed bunks save time, reduce feed waste, improve safety, and simplify daily operations. Whether feeding grain or silage, this bunk is designed for efficient, long-lasting performance on your farm or ranch.
