Powder River Classic Calf Table – Rancher’s Product Review
Well, I gotta say, this Powder River calf table has made working calves a whole lot easier. Before, trying to hold ‘em still for shots, tagging, or even just checking ‘em over was a two-person job, and even then, they’d be dancing around, making everything harder than it needed to be. This table keeps ‘em secure without a fuss, and once they’re in, you can tip ‘em over easy and get to work without worrying about them jumping or kicking. I especially like the side access—it’s real handy for checking hooves or doctoring anything without having to fight ‘em.
Built for Safety and Ease of Use
Safety-wise, it’s a whole lot better than trying to wrestle a calf down in a pen. They can’t thrash around much, so there’s less chance of them or me getting hurt. The headgate is solid, holds tight without choking ‘em, and the quick-release on the side gives me peace of mind in case one ever gets in a bad way. Haven’t had to use it yet, but it’s good to know it’s there.
Heavy-Duty Durability and Tough Construction
The build on this thing is tough. Heavy steel all around, and I expect it’ll hold up for years, no problem. Powder coating keeps it from rusting up, which is important when you’re working in all kinds of weather. It’s got some weight to it, which I like—it ain’t gonna tip over or shift while you’re using it.
Efficient for Ranch Work
I run calves through for vaccinations, castrations, and branding mostly, but it’s also handy for checking for injuries, especially when they’re fresh weaned and not used to being handled. Used to take twice as long and a whole lot more wrestling to get things done. Now I can do it quicker and without worrying about getting kicked in the knee or slammed into a fence.
If you work cattle, especially a lot of young ones, this calf table is worth every penny. Makes the job safer, faster, and just plain easier.
