Galvanized Steel Shelter for Calf Housing
This calf hut provides a covered area where young livestock can move out of direct sun, wind, rain and snow. Corrugated galvanized steel is supported by an angle iron frame, with a rear ventilation opening and options for enclosing the front. The shelter measures 7 feet 6 inches long, 4 feet 6 inches wide and 3 feet 10 inches high.
Use the dimensions to assess the fit for your animals and housing layout. Space needs change with animal size and management practices; the hut's footprint alone does not establish an animal capacity. For other small livestock, check the entrance, interior clearance and suitability before ordering.

Front Enclosures, Ventilation and Pen Options
The front can remain open or be fitted with an optional fixed section or door for additional weather protection. Consider airflow as well as coverage when choosing the enclosure. The rear vent provides an opening for air movement; avoid treating a closed front as a substitute for a ventilation plan.
The optional pen creates an enclosed area in front of the hut. Its panels are 6 feet long and 39 inches high, made from 1¼-inch outside-diameter round tubing. These are panel dimensions, not the overall dimensions of the completed shelter-and-pen assembly. A special panel connects the pen to the hut.
Adjacent pens can share a center panel in a connected arrangement. Confirm the required panels and connectors when planning a row of huts. The pen's listed 230-pound weight is separate from the shelter's 145-pound weight.

Choose a suitable, well-drained location and provide bedding appropriate for your calf-housing program. Shelter from the weather works together with dry bedding, ventilation and routine checks; an enclosure alone does not ensure a dry resting area.
Securing the Hut
Three tie-down stakes are supplied: one for the rear and two for the front. Check the ground conditions and installation requirements before placing the shelter in service. The included stakes should not be treated as a universal wind-rating guarantee for every site.
